About Us

My name is Alicia Peterson. I bought my first Akita puppy years ago and have been in love with this wonderful and magnificent breed ever since. I now have 5 girls, 2 boys and absolutely love raising happy, healthy Akita babies. My 2 oldest girls, Keeta and Cookie are now retired. I have always been an animal lover and grew up with dogs, but the Akita has stolen my heart. They are big, strong, beautiful, protective and extremely intelligent. Akitas are one of the most loving and loyal breeds I have ever known. With that being said, they are also very territorial, protective and can be hard to handle at times. They have a strong hunting instinct and can be very stubborn! The Akita requires a strong leader and is not the breed for a first-time dog owner. My Akitas are all AKC registered with champion bloodlines even though they are just big pets! They are a huge part of the family and I love them dearly! They are mostly outside dogs but come in to visit and often spend the night! They also travel with us and love to ride and go places. If you are interested in one of my precious babies, and have never been owned by a Akita before, please do your research about the breed. They love their family and form unbreakable bonds, so if you are considering a puppy, be 100 percent positive you know what you are getting into. As wonderful and beautiful as they are, they are not the perfect dog for everyone! Akitas require a strong leader, obedience training and lots of socialization. I start socializing my puppies from day one until they go to their new forever home. I have grandkid’s and niece’s that help me out a lot! They love the dogs, especially the puppies! All the pups are raised inside my home and  have a great start while they are with me but it’s just the beginning, and must be continued. They are started on house training, bathing and nail trims. They go to the vet at 6 weeks old for checkups and first vaccines. I de-worm them on a regular schedule starting at 2 weeks of age and all puppies are microchipped and enrolled with new owners information before leaving me for their new home.  If properly socialized and trained, you will not be disappointed! But you must be willing to put in the time and effort.
